How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Procurement will lead the development and delivery of the organisation's procurement strategy, ensuring best value, compliance and supplier performance across all spend.     Head of Procurement

    This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced procurement leader to shape and deliver a best-in-class procurement function within a growing and highly respected healthcare organisation. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead procurement strategy, supplier relationships and commercial performance, ensuring the organisation continues to achieve outstanding value, quality and patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the procurement function, providing strategic and operational leadership across all areas of spend.
    Develop and deliver a forward-thinking procurement strategy aligned to organisational objectives and growth plans.
    Drive commercial value through effective sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier performance.
    Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to provide trusted procurement expertise and support decision-making.
    Ensure all procurement activity delivers value for money, quality, compliance and robust governance.
    Lead supplier selection, tendering and contract management processes across a complex healthcare environment.
    Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives, efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities.
    Manage supplier risk, business continuity and forward-planning activities to ensure resilient service delivery.
    Develop, coach and inspire a procurement and materials management team, creating a high-performance culture.
    Champion innovation, sustainability and best practice procurement to support long-term organisational success.

    Profile

    What We're Looking For

    Proven experience leading a procurement function within a hospital or healthcare setting.
    Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering savings and measurable value.
    Experience managing high-value contracts, supplier relationships and regulated procurement activity.
    Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to influence at senior leadership level.
    MCIPS qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent procurement expertise.
    Passion for continuous improvement, innovation and developing high-performing teams.
