I'm working with a growing specialist criminal defence firm in Warrington that's looking for a Graduate Paralegal to join its team.
This isn't your typical opportunity to spend your days buried in paperwork with little exposure to the work itself. It's a chance to get hands-on experience within a specialist area of criminal defence, learn from experienced professionals and build a strong foundation for your legal career.
A little about the firm
The firm specialises in the defence of sexual offences and domestic violence allegations, representing clients facing some of the most serious and sensitive allegations within the criminal justice system.
It's led by an experienced criminal defence lawyer who has taken the leap to build her own practice, with a clear vision for growing the business organically and bringing the right people on board.
Having already outgrown its original office and moved into larger premises in Warrington town centre, the firm is going from strength to strength. It's a genuinely exciting time to join, with the opportunity to become part of the team as the business continues to grow.
What will the role involve?
As a Graduate Paralegal, you'll have the opportunity to support the team across a range of criminal defence matters, gaining valuable insight into how cases progress and how clients are supported throughout the legal process.
You can expect to be involved in:
Assisting with case preparation and legal documentation.
Supporting solicitors with ongoing criminal defence matters.
Undertaking legal research and helping prepare case files.
Assisting with client communication and general case administration.
Learning about the criminal justice process and developing your practical legal skills.
Who would suit this role?
This opportunity would suit a law graduate who is keen to build a career in criminal law and wants more than just a foot in the door.
A law graduate, with an LLB and/or postgraduate legal qualification.
Genuinely interested in criminal defence and keen to learn.
Organised, proactive and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Professional, empathetic and confident communicating with people.
Looking to develop their knowledge and grow with a firm long term.
Previous legal experience would be beneficial, but enthusiasm, attitude and a genuine interest in criminal defence are just as important.
Why consider this opportunity?
Get hands-on experience in a specialist area of criminal defence.
Learn from experienced professionals in a growing legal practice.
Build your career within a niche area of law.
Join at an exciting time and play a part in the firm's continued growth.
