How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Bid & Social Value Coordinator
    Plymouth
    Permanent
    Part-Time
    3 Days Per Week

An established and highly regarded construction contractor in the Southwest is looking to appoint a Bid & Social Value Coordinator to support its continued growth and strengthen its presence across pre-construction, marketing, business development and community engagement.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in bid writing, tender coordination or social value who is looking for a varied role with the flexibility of working three days per week. Working closely with the directors and senior management team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of key activities, contribute to successful tender submissions and help develop initiatives that make a genuine difference within local communities.

    The Role
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the company's growth, coordinating compelling bid submissions, enhancing marketing activity and developing meaningful social value initiatives across a diverse portfolio of construction projects throughout the Southwest.

The business operates across a range of sectors, including education, commercial and industrial. With social value playing an increasingly important role in public sector procurement, you will help demonstrate the company's commitment to local communities, strengthen tender submissions and support the development of long-term client relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

Coordinate, write and manage high-quality bid and tender submissions from initial opportunity through to final submission.
Develop persuasive social value responses that align with client requirements, procurement frameworks and evaluation criteria.
Work closely with directors and senior management to develop and deliver the company's social value strategy.
Research tender opportunities and client requirements, tailoring submissions to maximise quality scores and competitiveness.
Prepare supporting bid documentation, including case studies, project information, CVs, presentations and company credentials.
Support marketing activities, including website updates, social media content, branding and promotional materials.
Assist with business development initiatives, networking events, stakeholder engagement and identifying new opportunities.
Build relationships with local schools, colleges, charities, community organisations and supply chain partners to support meaningful social value outcomes.
Help capture and communicate social value achievements, ensuring the company's commitments and community impact are effectively demonstrated.
The ideal candidate will have experience in bid coordination, bid writing, social value, marketing or business development, ideally within construction, engineering, infrastructure, property or the wider built environment.

You will be an organised and proactive individual with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the confidence to work independently while collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Key skills and experience will include:

Experience preparing bids, tenders, PQQs or social value submissions.
Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce persuasive, client-focused content.
An understanding of the construction or wider built environment sector.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Confidence building relationships with clients, communities and industry contacts.
A creative and solutions-focused approach to marketing, business development and social value.
The ability to take ownership of tasks and contribute ideas to support business growth.
    A full UK driving licence.
    What's on Offer?

Permanent part-time position, working three days per week.
A varied role spanning bids, marketing, business development and social value.
Direct access to and collaboration with the directors and senior management team.
The opportunity to take ownership of initiatives and make a tangible impact on the business and local communities.
The chance to join a respected Southwest construction contractor with an established pipeline of work.
