How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: Primary School Teaching Assistant
    Contract: Full-time

    Are you a caring, enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about helping young children learn and grow? We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in primary schools in Maida Vale, London.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to support their academic, social and emotional development during their primary school years.

    You will work closely with class teachers to create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment, helping pupils build confidence, develop essential skills and achieve their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities
    Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
    Provide one-to-one and small-group support in literacy, numeracy and other subjects.
    Assist pupils with reading, writing, phonics and basic mathematical skills.
    Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
    Encourage positive behaviour, participation and independence.
    Support pupils' social and emotional development.
    Assist with classroom management and daily school routines.
    Provide additional support to pupils with special educational needs where required.
    Supervise pupils during classroom activities and other school activities, as appropriate.
    Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to ensure pupils receive the support they need.
    The Ideal Candidate
    We are looking for someone who is:

    Passionate about working with children aged 4-11.
    Patient, caring, friendly and enthusiastic.
    Reliable, organised and proactive.
    Confident communicating with children and working as part of a team.
    Able to support children's learning across the primary curriculum.
    Committed to promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
    Previous experience working in a primary school or a similar educational setting would be an advantage. Experience supporting phonics, early literacy, numeracy or pupils with additional needs would also be beneficial. Candidates looking to begin a career in education are welcome to apply.
