How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a role for someone who takes pride in their work, can identify the root cause of a problem and deliver effective, long-lasting repairs while providing an excellent service to residents.

    Key Responsibilities

Carry out reactive plumbing repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties across London.

Diagnose faults accurately and identify practical, long-lasting solutions.

Achieve a high first-time fix rate, minimising repeat visits and reducing outstanding repairs.

Deliver excellent customer service, treating residents with professionalism, courtesy and respect.

Use strong problem-solving skills to resolve challenging repairs efficiently and effectively.

Work as part of the Care Team to improve service standards, resolve customer concerns and help recover existing contracts.

Complete repairs safely, efficiently and to a high standard of workmanship.

Maintain accurate records of completed works, materials used and any follow-on repairs required.

Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues and management to ensure repairs are completed promptly.

Represent our client professionally when working in residents' homes.

    The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

Proven experience as a Plumber, ideally within social housing, reactive maintenance or domestic property repairs.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.

A proven focus on completing repairs right first time and reducing unnecessary repeat visits.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

A professional, approachable and respectful manner when dealing with residents.

The ability to manage a reactive workload and prioritise jobs effectively.

A reliable, proactive attitude and a commitment to quality workmanship.

A full UK driving licence suitable for the role.

    Qualifications

    The following qualifications are preferred:

NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or an equivalent relevant qualification.

    G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.

    Part P Electrical qualification.

These qualifications are preferred rather than essential. Our client values practical experience, technical ability and a positive, customer-focused approach.
