How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An Engineering Manager is required in Greater London to lead day-to-day engineering operations across a critical environment, managing shift teams and maintaining the reliability of complex power and cooling infrastructure.

The role combines technical leadership with people and vendor management, covering power distribution, UPS systems, chilled water systems, planned maintenance, fault-finding and critical shutdowns.

    The Role

    As the Engineering Manager, you'll:

Lead day-to-day engineering operations and manage a team of direct reports.
Provide technical guidance to shift engineers and act as an escalation point.
Manage switching schedules, shutdowns and other critical engineering activities.
Oversee vendors and follow up technical works to ensure issues are resolved.
Support PPM, reactive maintenance and complex fault-finding across critical systems.
Review works across power distribution, UPS and chilled water systems.
Communicate effectively with the client and engineering teams during daily meetings. About You

To be successful as the Engineering Manager, you'll have:

A strong technical engineering background within a critical or similarly complex environment.
Electrical expertise, or a mechanical background with strong electrical understanding.
Experience with power distribution, UPS systems and critical cooling infrastructure.
Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to assess technical problems and solutions.
Experience managing engineering teams, contractors and specialist vendors.
HNC or relevant technical qualifications, with a degree desirable.
18th Edition qualification or relevant electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
Authorised Person experience is desirable, with training available where required. What's in it for You?
    £70,000–£80,000 annual salary.
Permanent position based in Greater London.
    Monday-to-Friday working pattern, 8am–5pm.
Technical training, including progression towards Authorised Person responsibilities.
Senior responsibility across a large engineering team and critical infrastructure. The Engineering Manager will also act as an escalation point for occasional out-of-hours requirements, including shutdowns and reactive situations.
