How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager

    Location: Farmoor, Oxfordshire

    The Role

    An established construction and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee works on a water infrastructure security upgrade project in Oxfordshire.

    This is a hands-on, site-based role involving the day-to-day management and coordination of multi-discipline construction activities, with a significant civils element alongside electrical and associated works.

    The successful candidate will take responsibility for site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required programme and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage day-to-day site operations, including subcontractors, operatives, deliveries, plant and site logistics.

    * Coordinate civils and multi-trade construction activities to ensure efficient project delivery.

    * Monitor progress against short-term programmes and project milestones.

    * Review and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), permits and site briefings.

    * Maintain accurate site diaries, progress reports and project documentation.

    * Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

    * Carry out site inspections, monitor workmanship and support quality assurance and handover activities.

    * Coordinate with project managers, designers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives.

    * Identify potential risks, delays and site issues, escalating concerns and implementing appropriate actions.

    * Manage site resources, materials, deliveries and subcontractor performance.

    * Maintain site records, including permits, inspections, safety documentation and progress updates.

    * Ensure site facilities, access arrangements, security and welfare provisions are maintained appropriately.

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Site Manager, or in a similar site management role within construction, civils, infrastructure or utilities.

    * Strong experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-skilled site teams.

    * Good understanding of construction methods, site documentation, RAMS, permits and health and safety procedures.

    * Ability to manage civils works and coordinate multiple construction disciplines.

    * Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

    * SMSTS qualification.

    * Black CSCS Manager Card.

    * Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.

    * Valid Water Hygiene Card.

    * Good working knowledge of electrical works and their coordination with wider construction activities would be advantageous.

    Desirable Experience

    * Previous experience within the water, utilities or infrastructure sectors.

    * Exposure to physical security upgrades, security hardening or electronic security systems.

    * Experience working on live operational sites or within controlled environments.

    * Existing security clearance would be beneficial.

    The Opportunity

    This is an opportunity to join a major infrastructure project where you will play a key role in coordinating site delivery, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and ensuring works progress in line with project requirements.

    Candidates should be comfortable working on site at Farmoor, Oxfordshire, and managing day-to-day construction activities in a hands-on environment.

    To apply, please submit your CV outlining your relevant site management experience and qualifications
