How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Encourage participation in social, recreational and community activities.

    * Promote positive behaviour using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.

    * Safeguard and protect children at all times, following company policies and procedures.

    * Maintain accurate daily records, reports and documentation.

    * Support with household tasks to create a clean, safe and welcoming home environment.

    * Administer medication where trained and authorised.

    * Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each child.

    * Participate in shift work, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins as required.

    What We're Looking For:

    * A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * A caring, patient and resilient approach.

    * Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

    * Flexibility to work a rota including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

    * Full UK driving licence.

    What We Offer:

    * Competitive salary.

    * Paid sleep-in allowance (where applicable).

    * Comprehensive induction and fully funded training.

    * Opportunity to gain the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.

    * Career progression opportunities into Senior Support Worker, Deputy Manager and Registered Manager roles.

    * Supportive leadership and mentoring.

    * Career stability and security

    Why Join Us?

    We believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe, stable and nurturing environment. As a Residential Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping children overcome challenges, celebrate achievements and build brighter futures.

    No two days are the same, but every day offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a young person's life. If you're looking for a rewarding career where your dedication and compassion truly matter, we'd love to hear from you.
