How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Mechanical Project Manager
    Location: London, Essex and surrounding areas
    Salary: £65,000 - £75,000

    A specialist Mechanical Contractor based in Hertfordshire, with over 40 years of industry experience, is looking for an additional Mechanical Project Manager to join their expanding Projects Division due to continued growth

    The successful Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from initial inception through to final handover, taking full ownership of the project lifecycle. This will include conducting site visits and surveys, working with in-house design and estimating teams, preparing quotations, negotiating and purchasing materials, supervising labour, coordinating commissioning, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

    The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a range of large-scale mechanical projects, including:

    Air Handling Units (AHUs)
    Chillers
    VRV and VRF systems
    Commercial Plumbing
    Ventilation systems
    Projects will consist of a combination of fit-out works and live asset replacement. The projects will be delivered specifically across a varied commercial portfolio of clients. Therefore, previous experience working within the commercial sector is essential. Project values will range from approximately £50,000 to £1 million.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong HVAC contracting background, proven experience managing projects from conception through to completion, and a solid understanding of delivering complex mechanical services within commercial environments.

    Mechanical Project Manager - Salary & Benefits

    Basic Salary £65,000 - £75,000 DOE
    Company Car or Car Allowance £580 per month

    Mechanical Project Manager - Job Requirements

    Proven experience managing the delivery of mechanical projects involving AHUs, VRV/VRF systems, ductwork/Vent and chillers, including fit-outs, replacements, upgrades, and refurbishments.
    A minimum of 5 years' experience managing mechanical project delivery from inception through to completion.
    Computer literate, with strong proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    Based around Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or Essex and willing to travel across the region and London for projects.
    Hybrid working: must be able to attend the office 1-2 days a week for meetings.
