How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer (Late Shift)

    £40,000 - £41,000 + Monday to Thursday + 4-Day Working Week + Overtime Opportunities + Long-Term Opportunity

    Ideally Located: Preston, Blackburn, Blackpool, Chorley, Wigan, Bolton, Burnley, Clitheroe, Southport, ETC

    Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking to join an established manufacturing company offering a four-day working week and the opportunity to utilise your mechanical and electrical maintenance skills?

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business where you will play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently.

    The company operates within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support the ongoing maintenance and reliability of its production machinery.

    You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a range of manufacturing equipment, including fault finding, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and carrying out repairs. You will also have the opportunity to contribute towards equipment improvements and support the installation of new machinery.

    This role would suit a Maintenance Engineer with a time-served engineering background, ideally with multi-skilled experience, looking for a stable position offering a four-day working week.

    The Role:

    Planned and reactive maintenance of manufacturing machinery, including filling, capping, labelling and conveyor systems.
    Mechanical and electrical fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance.
    Monday - Thursday, late shiftThe Person:

    Time-served engineer in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally multi-skilled.
    Experience fault finding and carrying out maintenance on production machinery.
