How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Estimator / Project Manager – HVAC

    Location: Romsley Point, B62
    Salary: £35,000–£47,000 DOE + Bonus Scheme
    Hours: Full-time

    The Opportunity

    Our client is a well-established HVAC contractor with 30 years’ experience delivering commercial air-conditioning and ventilation projects.

    They are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Estimator / Project Manager to manage projects from initial enquiry and quotation through to installation, commissioning and final handover.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong HVAC technical knowledge who can combine accurate estimating, effective project management and excellent customer relationships to deliver profitable projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Prepare accurate, competitive quotations from drawings, specifications, site surveys and customer enquiries.

    * Estimate and specify commercial air-conditioning and ventilation systems, including split, multi-split, VRV/VRF, AHUs and HRUs.

    * Manage projects from order placement through procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.

    * Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, equipment and project programmes.

    * Monitor project costs, margins, variations, quality and health and safety.

    * Maintain strong customer relationships and manage communications throughout each project.

    * Ensure variations are recorded and valued correctly, with invoices and final accounts submitted promptly.

    About You

    * Experience estimating and/or managing commercial HVAC projects.

    * Strong technical knowledge of air-conditioning and ventilation systems, including VRV/VRF, AHUs and HRUs.

    * Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical information.

    * Understanding of equipment selection, labour and material costs, project budgets and profit margins.

    * Excellent organisational, commercial, negotiation and customer service skills.

    * Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

    * Full UK driving licence.

    You’ll be commercially aware, detail-oriented and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems and deliver work safely, on time and within budget.
