About the School
This well-established primary school in Hillingdon has an existing specialist ASD provision and is now developing an inclusion base within its mainstream setting.
The new base will support pupils whose needs cannot be fully met within a mainstream classroom but for whom placement in the designated ASD unit would not be appropriate.
The Role - As the SEND Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver personalised learning for pupils with a range of SEND
Adapt teaching, resources and the curriculum to meet individual needs
Create a structured, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Use specialist and evidence-informed SEND strategies
Monitor pupils' progress and contribute to individual support plans
Work closely with the SENCo, senior leaders, teachers and support staff
Liaise effectively with families and relevant external professionals
Support pupils' communication, engagement, independence and emotional regulation
The ideal SEND Teacher will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have strong experience supporting pupils with SEND
Understand inclusive and specialist teaching approaches
Be confident adapting teaching to meet a wide range of individual needs
Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals
