How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Behaviour Mentor - SEN School
    Location: Newbury
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £90 - £105 per day

    Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop positive behaviours?

    A specialist school in Newbury is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils who may experience social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, helping them develop the skills and confidence to engage positively with education.

    As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, providing consistent guidance and encouragement throughout the school day. You will help students understand their emotions, manage challenging situations, and develop strategies that enable them to make positive choices.

    In this role, you will:

    Provide tailored support to pupils experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties
    Build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
    Help students develop emotional regulation and effective coping strategies
    Encourage engagement with learning, classroom routines, and school expectations
    Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement consistent behaviour support strategiesThe school offers a supportive environment where staff work collaboratively to understand individual pupils and help them achieve their potential. This role will allow you to develop valuable skills in behaviour management, mentoring, and specialist education.

    This Behaviour Mentor position would suit someone with experience in youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care, or education. Graduates interested in psychology, counselling, or teaching are also encouraged to apply.
