How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mental Health Assistant
    Location: Thatcham
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £90 - £105 per day

    Are you interested in mental health, psychology, or helping young people overcome social and emotional challenges?

    A supportive specialist school in Thatcham is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs while helping them develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

    As a Mental Health Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils who may experience anxiety, difficulties with emotional regulation, low confidence, or challenges managing their behaviour. Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, you will help students feel safe, understood, and ready to engage with their education.

    As part of your role as a Mental Health Assistant, you will:

    Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
    Help students develop coping strategies, resilience, and emotional awareness
    Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
    Encourage engagement with learning and promote positive behaviour
    Work alongside teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to provide consistent supportThe school provides a nurturing and structured environment, with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing and individual development. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced staff while developing practical skills that can support your future career.
