How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: Production Planner

    Location: Wolverhampton

    Hours: Day shift with an early finish on a Friday (flexible for a 07:00 or 08:00 start)

    Salary: £45k - £50k dependent on experience

    We're partnering with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business that plays a key role within critical UK supply chains. Following significant investment and recent acquisition by a leading industry brand, they're continuing their growth journey and are looking to strengthen their planning team with an experienced Production Planner.

    Working from modern, high-spec offices in Wolverhampton, you'll enjoy a clean and professional working environment, excellent facilities, on-site parking, and convenient public transport links.

    The Role

    As Production Planner, you'll be at the heart of operations, ensuring customer requirements are delivered efficiently and on time. You'll work closely with production teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to keep projects moving and resources aligned.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Planning and coordinating production schedules
    Liaising with subcontractors and external suppliers
    Ordering materials and monitoring stock requirements
    Maintaining accurate system data and reporting
    Resource and capacity planning
    Progress chasing to ensure delivery targets are met
    Working closely with the shop floor and operational teams
    Updating customers on production plans and lead times
    Supporting the Operations Manager with day-to-day planning activitiesWhat We're Looking For

    Previous experience in a Planning, Production Planning or Scheduling role
    Strong Excel and systems skills
    Experience within Precision Machining, Steel, Fabrication, Engineering or similar manufacturing environments
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
    Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects simultaneously
