How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    REF: 313) 1 X Contracted Support Worker and 1 X Bank Support Worker – Cardiff
    Position: Permanent
    Location: Cardiff
    Hours (Contract): 24.25 hours per week
    Hours (Bank): Various hours available
    Working pattern:
    * 16.25 hours for wake shifts
    * 8 hours for sleep shifts
    * (7:45 am start to finish 8:00 am the following morning)
    Bank & Contact:
    * Plus, extra hours available to cover leave.
    * Flexibility on shifts to be discussed interview.
    Pay per hour:
    * £14.44 Weekday
    * £15.64 Unsocial – Including Weekends and Bank Holidays
    * £12.71 Sleep Rate

    Our client is a young man with Cerebral Palsy who lives in his own home and has some physical and emotional support needs. He requires some prompting, supervision and practical support with activities of daily living, whilst being encouraged to maintain his independence and make his own choices.
    He enjoys technology and gaming and has interests in history, politics and writing. He also enjoys visits to the cinema and local pub when he chooses to access the community.
    A key part of the role will be to support him to engage in meaningful activities and interests, both at home and within the community, in accordance with his individual preferences and choices. You will be warm, patient and reliable, with excellent communication skills and a consistent, person-centred approach. Flexibility and an ability to recognise when to encourage engagement and when to respect his choices will be important within the role.
    A full induction and training will be provided. This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS check.
    ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
    To join me as a Support Worker you will need to:
    * Be willing to drive the client's vehicle
    * Ideally have a good understanding of the needs of a client with Cerebral Palsy
    * Enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team
