How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are working with a well-established property consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior M&E Consultant to join its growing Building Consultancy team.

The business provides a range of technical and commercial property services to investors, landlords and occupiers, with its M&E consultancy team advising on the performance, condition and management of building services across commercial property portfolios.

This is a varied position that combines technical consultancy with the delivery of M&E projects, providing the opportunity to work closely with clients and take responsibility for assignments from initial survey through to completion.

    The Role

Undertake M&E condition surveys, technical due diligence inspections and assessments of existing building services installations.
Prepare technical reports, planned maintenance programmes, lifecycle assessments and capital expenditure recommendations.
Identify opportunities to improve building performance, operational efficiency and compliance.
Develop specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation for M&E plant replacement and improvement projects.
Provide technical advice to clients, property managers and other stakeholders on operational building services matters.
Review contractor proposals, maintenance arrangements and technical documentation.
Support junior colleagues and contribute to maintaining the team's technical standards.

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced M&E Consultant with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical services within commercial buildings.

You should have experience undertaking building services surveys, preparing technical reports and delivering projects, together with the confidence to advise clients and manage assignments independently.

A relevant building services or engineering qualification would be advantageous, although practical experience and technical competence are equally important.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join an established consultancy with a diverse commercial property client base, where you will enjoy a good degree of autonomy, direct client contact and exposure to a broad range of technical assignments.

The position would suit someone who enjoys the practical challenges of working with existing buildings and is looking to develop their career within a collaborative and knowledgeable consultancy environment.

Additionally the renumeration package includes a salary up to £65,000, Bonus, Car Allowance, Pension and Healthcare.
