How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    - Maintain and repair fire doors and passive fire protection systems.
    - Undertake maintenance and repairs to drainage systems.
    - Inspect and maintain cladding and roof systems.
    - Carry out general joinery repairs and other fabric maintenance activities.
    - Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and safe working procedures.
    - Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance activities.
    - Develop Competent Person status through relevant training and instruction, including areas such as confined spaces and working at height.
    - Identify potential defects and maintenance issues and take appropriate action to prevent further deterioration.
    - Work closely with colleagues, contractors and other site teams to ensure effective service delivery.
    - Support a proactive approach to health, safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

    About You
We are looking for a practical and experienced Fabric Engineer or Fabric Maintenance Technician with previous experience working within a maintenance environment.

    You will ideally have:
    - A recognised apprenticeship in a relevant engineering or building-services discipline to City & Guilds level.
    - Previous experience working within a maintenance environment.
    - Good practical knowledge of building fabric systems.
    - Experience working with fire doors and passive fire protection.
    - Knowledge of drainage systems, cladding and roofing.
    - Strong general joinery and fabric repair skills.
    - Good diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
    - An understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance requirements.
    - The ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
    - Good communication and organisational skills.
    - A proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
    - Previous healthcare or hospital experience would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant experience in other complex environments will also be considered.

    Whats on Offer?
    - £35,000 salary
    - 40 hours per week
    - Full-time permanent opportunity
    - 24 days annual leave plus public holidays
    - Life cover equivalent to 1.5 times annual salary
    - Employee discounts with major retailers and brands
    - Gym membership discounts
    - Cycle to work scheme
    - Holiday purchase scheme
    - 2 corporate social responsibility days per year
    - Professional qualifications and training opportunities
    - Employee referral rewards
    - Access to employee networks
    - 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme and mental wellbeing support
