How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Looking to build your skills in a varied role where you can learn how different parts of a business work?

Carnegie Group are a principal contractor specialising in commercial and industrial steel frame solutions, handling the construction process from start to finish.

We're looking for an organised administrator to support our Contracts, Site and Estimating teams. This is a great opportunity to build on your existing administration experience, develop your confidence and gain practical skills that will be useful wherever your career takes you.

    Why join Carnegie Group?

You'll gain exposure to different areas of the business, from supporting live construction projects and ordering materials to communicating with clients and helping with incoming enquiries. There's plenty of variety and the chance to learn along the way.

As an employee-owned business, we encourage people to get involved, understand the wider business and feel comfortable contributing ideas.

Although this is a 12-month fixed-term contract, a permanent opportunity may be available for the right candidate, subject to business needs.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Providing administrative support to our Contracts and Site teams
    Ordering site materials and equipment
Coordinating maintenance administration for company-owned tools, equipment and vehicles
    Managing diaries and bookings
    Handling telephone calls
Supporting our Estimating team with incoming enquiries
    Communicating with clients
Creating and maintaining project schedules in Excel
Managing document filing and document control
    What we're looking for

Ideally, you'll have at least one year's experience in an administrative position within a construction firm, along with:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
    Experience using a CRM system
    A confident telephone manner
Good organisational skills and a willingness to learn and get involved
    Benefits

    NEST pension
    Employee health cashback plan
    Birthday leave
If you're looking for a varied administration role where you can contribute, learn and develop your skills, we'd love to hear from you
