How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant - Hackney

    Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children with ASD and ADHD and helping them get the most from their school day? Academics are currently recruiting for two ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistants in Hackney to join a welcoming primary school on a long-term basis.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build on their experience supporting pupils with additional needs, while also having the chance to take on extra responsibilities within the school.

    The Role

    * ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant
    * Location: Hackney
    * Start: ASAP
    * Contract: Long-term, until July 2027
    * Pay: £95-£120 per day

    Your Responsibilities

    As an ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant in Havering, you will:

    * Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASD and ADHD
    * Help pupils remain engaged, focused and confident in the classroom
    * Support learning through tailored activities and differentiated work
    * Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop independence
    * Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
    * Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team
    * Adapt your approach to meet individual needs

    Added Opportunities

    This Hackney school offers more than just classroom-based TA work. There are opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and get involved with breakfast clubs and after-school clubs, giving you the chance to broaden your experience and become a valued member of the wider school team.

    What We're Looking For

    * Previous experience supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD
    * A patient, calm and consistent approach
    * Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    * Someone who is reliable, proactive and keen to get involved
    * A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

    Why This Role?

    Alongside the long-term stability and potential to go permanent, the school benefits from onsite parking and excellent nearby train and bus links, making the Hackney location easily accessible.

    If you're looking for a long-term ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant role in Hackney where you can develop your experience, take on additional responsibilities.
