How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are seeking a calm, proactive, and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Chalfont St Giles.     You will work closely with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex additional needs, providing dedicated 1:1 support and assistance in small groups. You will help pupils access learning, develop communication skills, build confidence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD, complex needs, and communication difficulties.
    Support non-verbal pupils using appropriate communication strategies and a patient, nurturing approach.
    Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible, and differentiated lessons.
    Promote pupils' independence, confidence, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
    Help maintain a positive, safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
    Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and other professionals.
    Adapt support to meet each pupil's individual learning, communication, and behavioural needs.The Ideal Candidate

    Experienced in supporting children with SEN, particularly non-verbal pupils and children with complex needs.
    Patient, empathetic, nurturing, and calm under pressure.
    Confident in supporting pupils with ASD and communication challenges.
    A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a team.
    Reliable, flexible, proactive, and committed to promoting positive outcomes for every pupil.Previous experience in a specialist school, SEND provision, or a similar setting is highly desirable, alongside a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
