How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hours – Monday to Friday | 05:45 – 15:45

    This hands-on role requires a confident individual who can work from engineering drawings, tackle complex fabrication challenges and produce work to exacting standards.

    The Role – Key Responsibilities

    MIG welding and fabrication of structural steel components and assemblies to consistently high standards.
    Reading, interpreting and working independently from detailed engineering drawings and fabrication packs.
    Cutting, preparing, assembling and welding steel components to precise specifications.
    Building complex fabrications ensuring accuracy, structural integrity and quality throughout.
    Collaborating closely with production and design teams to identify improvements and resolve technical challenges.
    Operating workshop machinery, hand tools and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
    Preparing finished fabrications for subsequent production stages.
    Maintaining excellent workshop standards and contributing to a productive, safety-focused environment.

    What We’re Looking For

    Please note: Experience is essential. This is not an entry-level role.

    Proven, substantial experience in MIG welding and steel fabrication within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
    Strong ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings independently.
    Confidence in fabricating components from initial preparation through to finished assembly.
    Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and pride in workmanship.
    A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
    Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
    Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts is advantageous.
    A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to the location and accessibility of our site.
