How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Bennett & Game are representing a well-established and specialist architectural practice based in Cheadle, Cheshire, who are looking for a Junior Architectural Technologist to join their growing technical team.

    With over 40 years of experience, our client has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality architectural projects across the UK, with a particular specialism in the Automotive sector. The practice works with some of the world's leading automotive brands, delivering high-end showroom environments, workshops and associated commercial facilities.

    The successful candidate will initially support the team on the rollout of new corporate identities and showroom environments for major automotive clients, before developing into a more technically focused position as these schemes progress onto site. This will provide excellent exposure to RIBA Stages 4 and 5, technical design, detailing, coordination and construction delivery.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician with good Revit skills who is looking to develop their technical expertise within a supportive and experienced team. The practice has a strong track record of investing in junior staff and offers genuine opportunities to progress as your experience develops.

    Produce and develop architectural and technical drawings using Revit
    Support the preparation of detailed design and construction information
    Assist with projects progressing through RIBA Stages 4 and 5
    Develop an understanding of construction detailing, materials and technical design
    Assist Architects and senior Technologists with the production of technical packages
    Support the coordination of architectural information with consultants and other disciplines
    Assist with resolving technical queries and design issues
    Gain exposure to construction projects and site delivery
    Support the rollout of new corporate identities and showroom environments for major automotive clients
    Work on high-quality commercial and technically demanding projects
    Develop knowledge of Building Regulations, construction standards and technical requirements
    Work collaboratively within a close-knit team of Architects, Technologists and Associates
    Progress towards taking greater responsibility for technical delivery as experience developsJunior Architectural Technologist Requirements

    Relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, Architectural Design, Interior Design or a related discipline
    Around 1-3 years' professional experience as an Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician
    Good working knowledge of Revit is essential
    An understanding of technical design and construction detailing
    Some exposure to RIBA Stages 4 and 5 would be advantageous
    Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    Good understanding of architectural drawings and technical information
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
    Commercial, industrial, healthcare or similarly technical project experience would be advantageous
    A willingness to learn, develop and progress within a specialist architectural practice
