How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    I am currently working with a family-run fresh produce business that is looking to appoint a Production Manager to join its operation in Nottinghamshire.

    Supplying major UK retailers, this business has built a strong reputation within the fresh produce sector and is committed to delivering high-quality products while maintaining a positive and supportive working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Manager or experienced Shift Manager looking to take ownership of a key area of the operation and play an important role in the continued success of the business.

    Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the wash facilities and pre-pack operation, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with Team Leaders to manage labour, coordinate workflow and maintain operational performance across the department.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Leading the daily operation of the wash and pre-pack areas

    * Managing labour planning, shift organisation and resource allocation

    * Monitoring production performance, efficiency and output

    * Coaching and developing Team Leaders to drive engagement and performance

    * Conducting performance reviews and supporting training and development activities

    * Ensuring adequate cover and succession planning across the operation

    * Maintaining BRC, food safety, hygiene and traceability standards

    * Working closely with Quality teams to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions

    * Promoting a strong health and safety culture across the site

    * Conducting risk assessments and supporting incident investigations

    * Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste

    * Analysing operational data and performance trends to support decision making

    * Providing regular KPI and operational updates to senior management

    To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience within fresh produce, food manufacturing or another fast-paced production environment. Strong leadership skills, a hands-on management style and the ability to motivate teams while maintaining high standards are essential.

    The package includes:

    * Salary of £40,000

    * Monday to Friday working pattern

    * 31 days holiday

    * Employee healthcare cashback plan

    * 24/7 access to GP and counselling services

    * Free on-site parking

    * Supportive and friendly working environment

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established fresh produce business where you can make a genuine impact, lead from the front and contribute to the continued growth of the operation.
