Rydon Maintenance has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Multi-Skilled Plumbing Engineer to join our South East NHS maintenance team. The team delivers planned, preventative, and reactive building maintenance services across a portfolio of healthcare properties.
As part of the Rydon Group, Rydon Maintenance provides hard facilities management services to NHS Trusts across England, supporting over 250 buildings nationwide. We work with hospitals, ambulance services, primary care, and mental health trusts to ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained environments through innovative maintenance solutions.
Job Purpose
As a Multi-Skilled Plumbing Engineer, you will support the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs for a leading NHS provider of emergency and urgent healthcare services.
The role is primarily focused on plumbing maintenance, although you will also undertake a range of general building maintenance tasks, including:
Basic electrical repairs, such as replacing light fittings and lamps
Carpentry and ironmongery works, including door handles and locks
General fabric repairs and maintenance
Planned compliance checks, including temperature monitoring and emergency lighting inspections
Minor upgrade and improvement works
This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to develop a broad range of maintenance skills while contributing to the delivery of essential healthcare services.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Participation in an on-call rota is required, with additional payments for call-outs and overtime.

About You
You will have experience in building maintenance, ideally within an NHS environment or for a maintenance contractor delivering planned and reactive services. Applications are also welcomed from candidates with commercial maintenance experience in sectors such as education, retail, hospitality, or public services.
A plumbing qualification is desirable but not essential. Candidates with relevant practical experience will also be considered.
You will additionally have:
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices
A full UK driving licence
Experience across a range of building maintenance disciplines, such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, or general repairs
Strong customer service skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
