How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception

    Location: Little Lever, Bolton
    Salary: £95-£110 per day, dependent on experience
    Contract: Long-term, full-time, with potential for a permanent position
    Start Date: ASAP

    Are you passionate about Early Years and Special Educational Needs? Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Little Lever area of Bolton.

    The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to a child in Reception with high-level additional needs, including significant communication difficulties.

    This child requires a consistent, nurturing adult who can provide support throughout the school day while ensuring they are able to participate in learning and development opportunities alongside their peers.

    The Role

    Providing consistent 1:1 support within a Reception classroom.
    Supporting a child with ASD and significant communication needs.
    Helping the child access the EYFS curriculum and play-based learning.
    Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
    Adapting activities to meet individual needs.
    Supporting classroom routines and transitions.
    Encouraging independence and participation.
    Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
    Providing a calm, predictable and nurturing presence.

    The Ideal Candidate

    You will ideally have:

    Previous EYFS experience - essential.
    Experience supporting children with SEN and/or ASD.
    A genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
    A good understanding of early childhood development.
    Excellent patience and relationship-building skills.
    The ability to support both SEN needs and learning/development.
    A calm, consistent and nurturing approach.
    The resilience and commitment required to provide dedicated 1:1 support.The school is particularly keen to hear from candidates who genuinely want to develop their experience within EYFS and SEN.

    Every day will be different, and progress may be measured through small but hugely important steps in communication, confidence, independence and engagement.

    This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
