How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN Hub - Barking
    Full Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start

    Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Barking, working within its dedicated SEN Hub.

    The school is looking for a confident and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant who can support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, communication difficulties, learning disabilities and SEMH needs.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN TA who enjoys working within a specialist provision while remaining part of a mainstream primary school environment.

    Previous SEN experience is essential, and the school is keen to meet candidates who can provide consistent, individualised support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Support primary-aged pupils within the school's dedicated SEN Hub
    Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support throughout the school day
    Work with pupils displaying ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
    Adapt learning activities to meet individual abilities and EHCP targets
    Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and social development
    Use visual timetables, structured routines and alternative communication strategies
    Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
    Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers and specialist professionals
    Support pupils accessing mainstream classroom activities where appropriate
    Monitor and record individual pupil progressEssential Requirements:

    Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience - essential
    Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD or complex learning needs
    Confidence working within a specialist SEN provision or SEN Hub
    Understanding of EHCPs, differentiated learning and individual support plans
    Experience supporting communication and emotional regulation
    Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
    A calm, patient and consistent approach
    Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SEN professionalsLocation & Transport - Barking, East London
