How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are supporting a leading defence organisation with the appointment of an Analogue and Digital Electronic Design Engineer to join its Electronic Engineering team in Stevenage. The role offers the chance to work across the full electronic design lifecycle, contributing to the development, testing and delivery of advanced products within a highly technical engineering environment.

    Typical responsibilities include:

    Taking ownership of board-level electronic design, including schematic capture, prototyping, functional testing and proving activities

    Working with other Electronic Engineering teams to support the integration of electronics within wider products

    Using circuit simulation, DFMEA and other development techniques to produce robust electronic designs

    Supporting products throughout the lifecycle from feasibility through to production transfer, including industrial validation and quality assurance

    Contributing to research and continuous improvement activities across the Electronic Engineering function

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Experience in electronic design, development and delivery

    A broad understanding of electronic technologies and products

    The ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment

    A structured approach to solving technical challenges and developing robust design solutions

    The ability to contribute to projects throughout the full product development lifecycle
