How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Interaction Engineering 

    Traffic Marshal / Site Operative

    Location: Central Northampton, NN1
    Contract: Temporary / Ongoing
    Start Date: Immediate
    Hours: Full-time
    Overtime: Available for early starts

    The Role

    We are looking for a reliable Traffic Marshal / Site Operative to support our team on a live construction project within an occupied private car park in central Northampton.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe working areas, managing vehicle movements and ensuring pedestrian safety around the active work area.

    When Traffic Marshal duties are not required, the operative will also provide general support to the site team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Establish and maintain safe working areas using cones, barriers and signage.

    Manage pedestrian segregation around the work area.

    Monitor vehicle movements and maintain safe access and egress.

    Assist with compliance with the site traffic management plan.

    Act as a Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman when required.

    Assist with the movement of materials and equipment.

    Operate pallet trucks.

    Support deliveries and material distribution.

    Carry out general labouring and housekeeping duties.

    Assist the project team with day-to-day site activities as required.

    Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

    Requirements

    Ideally, candidates will hold a recognised Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman qualification, such as:

    CPCS A73

    NPORS N403

    Lantra Traffic Marshal

    Equivalent recognised qualification

    Previous experience working in a live vehicle environment would be advantageous, including experience within:

    Construction sites

    Car parks

    Logistics yards

    Warehouses

    Industrial environments

    Essential

    Good understanding of health and safety.

    Strong communication skills.

    Reliable and punctual.

    Safety-conscious approach.

    Ability to work effectively as part of a small site team.

    Willingness to undertake general site duties when required.

    Full PPE.

    Working Hours

    The role will generally involve standard site hours, with occasional early morning starts from approximately 4:00am.

    Overtime rates will be paid for these early morning hours.

    Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate will be a reliable, safety-conscious and flexible individual who is comfortable managing vehicle and pedestrian movements while also supporting the wider site team.

    Traffic Marshal / Banksman experience is preferred, although candidates with relevant site experience and the right attitude will also be considered.
