The Role
As Client Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of clients and take responsibility for your workflow, while also overseeing and supporting the work of more junior members of the team.
You will use your technical knowledge of FRS 105 and FRS 102 to prepare and review statutory accounts, alongside preparing management accounts and reports that provide clients with meaningful insight into their financial performance.
A key part of the role will be building strong client relationships, understanding their requirements and providing commercially focused advice and support.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact.
* Identifying client requirements from their instructions and proactively addressing their needs.
* Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102.
* Preparing management accounts and management information for clients.
* Reviewing client bookkeeping records and carrying out bookkeeping "health checks".
* Ensuring regulatory and statutory deadlines are achieved.
* Ensuring the effective and cost-efficient use of resources across engagements.
* Ensuring clients' affairs are managed to the high standards expected of a professional accountancy firm.
* Working collaboratively with other members of the firm where specialist support is required.
* Planning and scheduling work to meet office performance targets, including fee targets, chargeable time and fee recovery.
You will ideally have:
* At least 3 years' experience in client management or a similar role within an accountancy practice or financial services environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of FRS 105 and FRS 102.
* Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
* Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
* Experience with tax computations and Self Assessment tax returns.
