This role covers the planning, running and reporting of trials, from laboratory-based integration trials through to harbour, sea and firing trials, working closely with the systems engineering and design teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with the systems engineering and design teams to plan, generate and execute trials
Liaising with the systems engineering and design teams to make sure enough trials data is captured, and to investigate and resolve design issues
Producing trials documentation
Preparing, delivering and following up internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews
Carrying out post-trials data analysis and reporting
Conducting and/or supporting trials, including laboratory-based functional integration and system trials, ground-based trials, harbour and sea trials, and firing trials
Taking on lab management responsibilities, such as maintaining risk assessments, asset management, host audits and lab safety
Maintaining hardware and software configuration control
Travelling within the UK and possibly abroad, as the work requires
The ideal candidate would have:
Experience of MBSE tools, for example DOORS, Rhapsody or RTC
Experience of coding, especially Python (beneficial but not essential)
The ideal candidate must have:
Experience of working in at least one of these areas: system integration; design proving and trials; naval integration; missile test; interface design; system assessment and acceptance; design verification; electrical / mechanical construction and interfacing; electronic design / test; or network integration
The ability to communicate with a wide range of internal customers, sub-contractors, partners and suppliers, at both engineering and management levels
