How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working: Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office
Hours: Flexible working to accommodate international markets
Markets: Middle East & Far East
    Sector: Construction & Building Materials

    The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Export Sales Manager to develop and grow international sales for a UK-based manufacturer.

This is a key role with responsibility for developing new business and growing existing customer relationships across the Middle East and Far East, with a particular focus on the construction and building materials markets.

The role would suit an experienced export sales professional who understands international trading and is confident managing the full sales process - from identifying and developing new customers through to quotations, orders, export documentation and shipment.

Importantly, previous experience selling construction or building products is not essential. We are interested in candidates who have a successful track record in export sales from a manufacturing or distribution background, regardless of the specific product they have sold.

    Key Responsibilities

Develop and grow export sales across the Middle East and Far East.

Identify and develop new customers, distributors, agents and commercial opportunities.

Build long-term relationships with international customers.

Generate and follow up sales enquiries and quotations.

Manage the complete sales process from enquiry through to order and shipment.

    Prepare and coordinate export documentation.

Work closely with manufacturing, logistics and administration teams.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements.

Convert quotations and opportunities into profitable sales.

Research new markets and identify potential customers and distribution partners.

Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer database.

Provide regular sales forecasts and market feedback.

Represent the company at customer meetings, exhibitions and international events where appropriate.

    Travel internationally when required.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced export sales professional with a proven ability to develop international business.

    You will ideally have:

Proven experience in export or international sales.

Experience working for a manufacturer or distributor.

A demonstrable track record of winning new customers and growing sales.

Experience dealing with international customers and distributors.

Experience preparing commercial quotations and export documentation.

Knowledge of international shipping, freight and logistics.

    Strong negotiation and commercial skills.

    Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

A proactive, self-motivated approach to business development.

The ability to work independently and manage your own international sales pipeline.

Confidence working across different cultures and time zones.

    What Products Have You Sold?

We are open-minded about your product background.

Experience in construction, building materials, architectural products, engineering, manufacturing, plumbing, HVAC or related sectors would be beneficial, but is not essential.

If you have successfully sold any manufactured or distributed product into international markets, we would like to hear from you.

Your export sales experience, commercial ability and track record of winning business are more important than the exact product you have previously sold.

    Hybrid Working & Flexible Hours

This is a hybrid position, with 2 days per week working from the UK office and the remaining days available for remote working.

Working hours are flexible to accommodate customers across the Middle East and Far East and the different international time zones.

The role offers a high degree of autonomy and would suit an experienced salesperson who is comfortable managing their own diary, pipeline and customer relationships.

    Salary & Benefits

Up to £50,000 basic salary, depending on experience.

    15% annual performance-related bonus.

5% employer pension contribution, with a 5% employee contribution.

33 days' holiday per year, increasing with length of service.

    Life assurance - 3 x annual salary.

Hybrid working - 2 days per week in the office.

    Flexible working hours.

    International travel opportunities.

Opportunity to develop new international markets for an established UK manufacturer.

Significant responsibility and autonomy within an international sales role.

    Apply

If you are an experienced Export Sales Manager / Export Sales Executive / International Sales Manager with a proven track record of developing overseas markets, we would like to hear from you.

Please submit your CV along with a brief covering note outlining:

    Your export sales experience.

The international markets you have sold into.

The types of products you have sold.

Your experience with quotations and export documentation.

Examples of new international business you have won or developed.

Industry experience is desirable, but proven export sales experience is the key requirement.

At Morgan Ryder we can provide you with a full range of employment opportunities from short term and fixed term temporary vacancies to permanent positions.

We recruit for companies that operate in the following industries: Defence Equipment, Food and Drink Manufacturers, FMCG, Packaging, Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace, Warehousing, Logistics, Waste Management, Petro Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Power & Renewable Energy.
