How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CAD Technician
    Location: Eye, Suffolk
    Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
    Permanent, Full-Time | Site-Based

    The Role
    We are looking for an experienced CAD Technician to join our Engineering & Design Team.
    You will be responsible for producing accurate engineering, fabrication and construction drawings, preparing Bills of Materials and supporting the successful manufacture of customer-specific products.
    You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing and customer-facing teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical and meet the required technical and quality standards.
    Key Responsibilities
    *
    Produce and check engineering, fabrication and construction drawings.
    *
    Prepare and check Bills of Materials and parts lists.
    *
    Use Autodesk Inventor 3D, AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
    *
    Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
    *
    Support the use and development of Autodesk Inventor and Vault Professional.
    *
    Apply Design for Manufacture principles and identify opportunities for improvement.
    *
    Support Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives.
    *
    Ensure all work meets company, quality and Health & Safety requirements.
    About You
    We are looking for someone with a strong engineering or manufacturing background and good technical understanding.
    Essential:
    *
    Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
    *
    Experience with 3D CAD, ideally Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar.
    *
    AutoCAD experience.
    *
    Experience producing Bills of Materials.
    *
    Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
    *
    Good communication, organisation and time-management skills.
    *
    Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
    Desirable:
    *
    HND/Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related subject.
    *
    ERP system experience.
    *
    Knowledge of iLogic, Python or similar coding.
    *
    Experience with Autodesk Vault or Continuous Improvement.
    Location & Right to Work
    This is a site-based role in Eye, Suffolk, so applicants must be able to reliably commute to the site.
    Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
