How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Technician – Electrical / Mechanical / Multi-Skilled

    Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
    Permanent | 12-Hour Continental Shifts | 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am

    We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join an established industrial production environment. The client is open to candidates from Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled backgrounds with strong industrial maintenance and fault-finding experience.

    The Role

    Working within a small engineering team, you will maintain production, processing and utility equipment, ensuring machinery remains safe, reliable and operational.

    * Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.

    * Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.

    * Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.

    * Fault find on motors, PLCs, inverters, wiring, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics.

    * Read electrical drawings and technical documentation.

    * Support equipment installation and commissioning.

    * Complete maintenance records and breakdown reports.

    * Support continuous improvement and BOPEX initiatives.

    * Follow site Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.

    About You

    * Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled maintenance experience.

    * Experience within manufacturing, production, process or heavy industrial environments.

    * Electrical qualifications for candidates applying from an electrical background.

    * Strong industrial fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

    * Experience with production machinery and plant equipment.

    * Knowledge of PLCs, inverters, motors, pneumatics or hydraulics is advantageous.

    * Understanding of LOTO/Safe Isolation, Permit to Work, Working at Height, Confined Space and ATEX/DSEAR.

    * Previous 12-hour continental shift experience is beneficial.

    * Ability to work independently within a small engineering team.

    Shift Pattern

    6am–6pm / 6pm–6am

    2 days → 2 nights → 5 off
    2 days → 3 nights → 4 off
    3 days → 2 nights → 5 off

    The rotation then repeats, with two weekends worked per month — one on days and one on nights.
