How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Heating Engineer

    Location: Lincoln
    Salary: £42,000 per annum
    Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (40 hours per week)
    Additional: Evening and weekend call-out rota

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heating Engineer to join a busy team covering domestic properties across the Lincoln area.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing domestic heating and hot water systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work on domestic heating and hot water systems.

    * Attend properties across the Lincoln area and complete work to a high standard.

    * Provide professional and friendly customer service when dealing with residents and tenants.

    * Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.

    * Complete job sheets, paperwork and updates using electronic and manual systems.

    * Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH requirements.

    * Manage and maintain stock, ensuring the correct parts are available to complete jobs.

    * Participate in an evening and weekend call-out rota.

    Requirements

    * Relevant gas qualifications are essential, including:

    * CCN1

    * CENWAT

    * HTR1

    * CKR1

    * Previous experience working on domestic heating and hot water systems.

    * Strong fault-finding and repair skills.

    * Good customer service and communication skills.

    * A professional and reliable approach to work.

    * Full UK driving licence.

    * Willingness to participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.

    * Successful applicants will be required to complete relevant eligibility, reference and DBS checks.
