How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Support vulnerable residents and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, domestic abuse and social exclusion.

    * Coordinate emergency moves and temporary accommodation where required.

    * Investigate complaints and respond to enquiries professionally and within agreed timescales.

    * Maintain accurate tenancy records and contribute to the effective management and use of housing stock.

    * Participate in the duty Housing Officer rota and provide guidance and support to colleagues when required.

    Essential Skills and Experience

    * Strong knowledge of housing legislation, anti-social behaviour legislation and tenancy enforcement procedures.

    * Experience managing complex ASB cases and supporting victims and witnesses.

    * Experience preparing legal evidence, witness statements and court documentation, with the ability to present evidence in court.

    * Experience working sensitively with vulnerable adults, young people and socially excluded residents.

    * Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.

    * The ability to balance resident support with proportionate enforcement action.

    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding caseload independently.

    * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and housing management systems.

    * A sound understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, equality and diversity, and health and safety.

    How to Apply

If you have strong housing management experience, a sound understanding of ASB legislation and the confidence to manage complex cases involving vulnerable residents and legal enforcement, we would welcome your application.
