How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About April Quest
April Quest specialises in permanent, contract and executive recruitment across engineering, science and technology. We connect talented people with ambitious businesses and take pride in the relationships we build with our clients, candidates and colleagues.
We’re looking for a creative, proactive Social Media and Marketing Executive to help raise our profile, showcase our expertise and bring our company culture to life.
This opportunity would suit a marketing graduate or someone early in their career who enjoys creating content, has plenty of ideas and wants to see their work make a direct impact.
    The Role
Working closely with our Managing Director, you’ll help develop and deliver a practical social media and marketing strategy that supports attracting new clients and candidates who need specialist recruitment support and talented people to join the April Quest team.
LinkedIn will be your primary focus across all three audiences. You’ll also develop our presence on Instagram and Facebook, particularly to showcase life at April Quest and support recruitment into our own business.
We want someone who spots opportunities, suggests fresh ideas and follows them through. You’ll have support and direction from the Managing Director, alongside the opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day activity.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Work with the Managing Director to develop our social media and marketing strategy, agree priorities and turn ideas into achievable campaigns.
    * Create and manage a content calendar, balancing industry insights, recruitment expertise, opportunities and company culture.
    * Research our audiences, competitors and relevant trends, suggesting new ways to reach and engage the right people.
    * Social media and content creation
    * Manage our company LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook accounts, tailoring content to each platform and audience.
    * Create engaging posts, graphics, photographs and short videos that reflect April Quest’s personality and expertise.
    * Develop content around the industries we recruit within, including technology developments, hiring challenges, career advice and market insights.
    * Turn the team’s knowledge and experience into useful content, such as consultant interviews, practical advice and success stories.
    * Monitor comments and messages, respond appropriately and direct enquiries to the relevant colleague.
    * Capture photographs and videos at team socials, celebrations and company activities.
    * Showcase what it’s like to work at April Quest through employee stories, behind-the-scenes content and recruitment campaigns.
    * Encourage colleagues to contribute ideas, appear in content and participate in social media activity.
    * Help the team share relevant company content and strengthen their professional presence on LinkedIn.
    * Support website content, blogs, email campaigns and marketing materials where relevant.
    * Maintain a consistent tone of voice and visual style across our content.
    * Track performance and share straightforward updates on what is working and what could improve.
    * Assess success through relevant engagement, client and candidate enquiries, and interest in joining April Quest.
    * Handle photographs, testimonials and client or candidate information with appropriate permission and care.
    About You
    You’ll bring:
    * Strong writing skills, attention to detail and an ability to adapt your message for different audiences.
    * Familiarity with social media and networking platforms
    * Creativity and an interest in photography, video and digital content.
    * The confidence to suggest ideas, involve colleagues and get things moving.
    * Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
    * Curiosity about engineering, science, technology and the people working in these industries.
    * A willingness to learn, test ideas and use feedback to improve.
    * A degree in marketing, communications or a related subject would be welcome, but isn’t essential. We’re equally interested in relevant practical experience.
    * Experience with tools such as Canva, video editing software or social media scheduling platforms would be useful. Previous recruitment industry experience is not required.
    How To Apply
Please send your CV and a short introduction explaining why this role interests you. If you have examples of social media posts, videos, designs or marketing projects you’ve created, we’d love to see them
