How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a role for someone who wants more than simply another workshop job. You'll have access to manufacturer training, technical support and genuine career development, while working on modern commercial vehicles within a professional environment.

    What's on offer?

    £45,630 – £51,480 depending on experience
    Monday to Friday, 13:00 – 22:00
    Annual bonus scheme
    Excellent pension contribution
25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
    Company vehicle scheme
    Life assurance
    Full sick pay
    Health and wellbeing benefits
    Employee assistance programme
    Career development opportunities

    Ongoing training and development
Access to a wide range of additional employee benefits and savings
The benefits package is a genuine standout feature of this opportunity, offering much more than just a competitive salary.

    What will you be doing?

As an HGV Technician, you'll play an important role in keeping a busy commercial vehicle operation running safely and efficiently.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
    Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
Working from job cards and repair instructions
Carrying out inspections, testing and fault finding
Accurately recording work completed and tests carried out
Identifying and reporting additional work or vehicle faults
Working to manufacturer and company standards
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
Completing work accurately and within required timescales
Keeping up to date with the latest technical information
Working closely with colleagues to maintain vehicle availability
    What are we looking for?

We're keen to speak with experienced HGV Technicians who have a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance and repair.

    Ideally, you'll have:

Level 3 qualification in HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Proven experience working as an HGV Technician
    Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
    Commercial vehicle experience
    Good fault-finding ability
A professional approach to quality and safety
    Good communication skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Level 3 HGV qualifications are preferred, but candidates with strong proven HGV Technician experience will also be considered.

You don't necessarily need previous main dealer experience. If you've built your career as an HGV Technician within a fleet, independent workshop or other commercial vehicle environment and have the skills required, we'd be interested in speaking with you.

    Develop your career

    Your development matters here.

You'll receive manufacturer training and technical support, helping you stay ahead of the latest commercial vehicle technology and continue developing as an HGV Technician.

There are also genuine opportunities for career progression within a large and established commercial vehicle organisation.

If you're an experienced HGV Technician looking for a strong salary, outstanding benefits, consistent Monday-to-Friday hours and an employer that will invest in your future, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
