How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Part-Time Administrator – A Varied Role Where No Two Days Are the Same!

    Location: Bedford, MK41
Hours: 20 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Working Pattern: 5 mornings per week – Flexible hours
    Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time

Looking for a part-time role with variety, responsibility and flexibility?

Are you an experienced Administrator who loves being organised, keeping things running smoothly and being the person everyone relies on?

If you're looking for a role where you're genuinely valued, trusted to manage your own workload and no two days are quite the same, this could be the perfect opportunity!

We are recruiting for a Part-Time Administrator to join a well-established and successful engineering business based in Bedford.

You'll be joining a friendly, close-knit team of around 20 people, taking ownership of the day-to-day administration that keeps the business running.

This isn't your typical admin role! One day you could be organising travel arrangements for engineers working across Europe, the next coordinating deliveries of specialist machinery, processing purchase orders or helping manage the company's vehicle fleet.

There's plenty of variety, real responsibility and the opportunity to make the role your own.

    What Will You Be Doing?

    *

Purchasing & Orders: Raising purchase orders, ordering equipment and materials, liaising with suppliers and monitoring deliveries.

    *

Office Administration: Keeping the office organised, maintaining records and supporting the wider team.

    *

Travel Coordination: Booking hotels, flights, hire cars and accommodation for engineers working across the UK and Europe.

    *

Logistics: Arranging deliveries, couriers and transportation of specialist equipment.

    *

Fleet Administration: Helping coordinate vehicle servicing, MOTs, insurance and maintenance.

    *

Staff Administration: Processing timesheets, preparing employment paperwork and assisting with new starters.

    *

Finance Support: Assisting with invoices, expenses and basic financial administration when required.

    What Are We Looking For?

We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable, proactive and happy to roll up their sleeves!

    Ideally, you'll have:

    *

Previous experience in an administration or office support role.

    *

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

    *

Confidence managing your own workload and juggling different priorities.

    *

Good IT skills and experience using office systems or databases.

    *

A friendly, practical and flexible approach.

    *

The confidence to communicate with suppliers, colleagues and customers.

    *

A willingness to take responsibility and get things done!

Bonus points if you've worked with purchase orders, purchasing, logistics or within an engineering or manufacturing business – but this isn't essential.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

    What's in It for You?

    *

20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

    *

Flexible morning hours – for example, 9am–1pm or 10am–2pm.

    *

    A permanent, long-term opportunity.

    *

A varied and interesting position with plenty of responsibility.

    *

A friendly, established team with excellent staff retention.

    *

Comprehensive training and support from an experienced colleague.

    *

The opportunity to work independently and really make a difference.

Sound Like Your Kind of Role?

If you're an experienced Administrator looking for a flexible, part-time position where your organisational skills will genuinely be appreciated, we'd love to hear from you!

Apply today with your CV, and we'll be in touch to tell you more.
