How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Please do not apply to this role if you are interested in full-time work or have other part-time work where you cannot commit to three days during the week and two weekends in a month to provide the company with flexibility.

    Peopleforce Recruitment are supporting a global healthcare provider in search for a sample collector. This involves performing drug and alcohol screenings for business partners who require confirmation of employee health and safety.

    In this role, you will visit client sites to conduct drug and alcohol testing on employees, supporting workplace safety and compliance. Testing will take place in safety-critical environments such as factories, airports, manufacturing facilities, and similar settings. No two days are the same, making this a varied and engaging opportunity for someone who enjoys independent, people-facing work. The clients will reach out to the head office if they require a drug or alcohol screening to take place and then you would be assigned a site to travel to.

    This is a casual, ad hoc role requiring a high level of flexibility. Work is offered on an as-required basis, with shifts covering 12- or 24-hour standby periods. There are no guaranteed hours, and this role should not be relied upon as a full-time or primary source of income. You must provide three days per week that you are available to be on call as well as two weekends in a month. You will then be allocated to 1 day per week and 1 weekend in a month to be on standby. The weekly standby you will do will run from 6pm-6pm and the weekend standby you cover will be Friday 6pm – Monday 6pm. On the days you are on standby, you may not have any call outs or prebooked visits. On these occasions you would be paid a standby rate of £23 for the full 24 hours. you could be called out anytime including late at night. You will work for your team’s region, but you must be prepared to travel up to 2 hours if no one else is available for the call out. This is because, if a collections officer is already on a call out and another call out comes in, then the call out would be allocated to the next nearest available Collections Officer.

    Essentially, what you are guaranteed is 7 days per month standby paid at £23 each for each day (not per hour – this is a holding fee). You then get paid hourly if you are called out. As you are attending incidents that happen, there is no way to determine how many hours you would get monthly or how long you would be on site as each call out or visit is different.

    We are looking for individuals who are confident with written and digitalised communication. Day to day you will use Microsoft word, an iPad and other internal systems.

    FYI - In hours is 8-6pm and out of hours is 6pm-8am

    What we are looking for:

    * Driving license and access to own vehicle (Not needed if this is a Central London based role)

    * Proficient with Microsoft Office word

    * Experience using an iPad

    * Confident using technology

    * Attention to detail

    * Organisation

    * Customer service / customer facing experience

    * Flexibility

    * Able to attend an intensive week’s training session

    UK Pay Rates and hours:

    * Pre-Booked: In hours = £15.00

    * Prebooked out of hours = £18.50

    * Call out in hours: £17

    * Call out – out of hours: £37.50

    * Standby: £11.50 per 12 hrs

    * Standby for 24-hour shift = £23 for the full day

    * Standby enhanced standby payment: £46.00 per day – Enhanced (when covering above core requirements)

    * Standby away from home standby payment: £100.00 Per day – Out of area (when staying away from home overnight)

    * Cancellation: 2 Hrs will be paid if less than 48hrs notice given at the rate of collection routine/Call out
