How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: Full-time | Long-term | Term-time only
    Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £108.35 per day

    Pertemps Education Network is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich that is seeking a compassionate and motivated Graduate Psychology & Autism Learning Support Assistant to join its SEN support team.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate to develop practical experience supporting children with autism and additional needs within a nurturing primary school environment.

    About the SchoolThe school is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their potential.

    The successful candidate will support pupils across the primary age range, including children who may have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language needs, ADHD, social communication difficulties or other additional needs.
    You will work alongside experienced teachers, SEN staff and the school's wider pastoral team to provide consistent, individualised support and help pupils access learning.

    The school offers a supportive environment for graduates who are keen to develop their understanding of autism, child development, behaviour and inclusive education.

    The RoleAs a Graduate Psychology & Autism Learning Support Assistant, you will:

    Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism and additional needs.
    Support children to access the curriculum and participate positively in classroom activities.
    Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils, helping them build confidence and independence.
    Support pupils with social communication, emotional regulation and engagement.
    Use structured activities, visual resources and appropriate communication strategies to support learning.
    Help pupils manage transitions, routines and changes throughout the school day.
    Support children who may experience sensory, behavioural or communication difficulties.
    Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and other support staff to implement individual support strategies.
    Monitor pupil engagement and contribute to creating a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment.This role will provide excellent exposure to autism, child development, behaviour, SEN and early intervention, making it particularly valuable for graduates considering further study or careers within psychology and specialist education.

    Who Would Be Suitable?

    This position would be particularly suited to graduates with a genuine interest in psychology and working with children.

    We would welcome applications from:

    Psychology graduates considering Educational or Clinical Psychology.
    Graduates interested in Autism, SEN or Child Development.
    Childhood Studies, Education or related graduates.
    Candidates with previous experience working with children through schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work or volunteering.
    Graduates looking to gain relevant experience before applying for postgraduate psychology or therapy training.The ideal candidate will have:
    A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
    An interest in autism and child development.
    A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    The ability to build positive relationships with children.
    Resilience and the ability to remain calm when supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour or emotional dysregulation.
    A willingness to learn and develop specialist SEN strategies.Previous SEN or autism experience is desirable but not essential for the right Psychology graduate.
