How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

This opportunity sits within Government Digital Enablement (GDE) and will support the Service Transformation portfolio across several strategically important programmes and services. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and embedding a new Portfolio Office capability across multiple digital and transformation functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys introducing structure into evolving environments and helping organisations mature their portfolio management capabilities.

    Hiring Manager Insight

The most important aspect of this role is portfolio office establishment. Ben is specifically interested in candidates who have experience creating portfolio functions, governance structures or PMO capabilities where these did not previously exist. Candidates should demonstrate governance implementation, portfolio operating models, stakeholder influence and comfort operating in ambiguity.

    Role Summary (Detailed)

Support development of portfolio management capability, governance frameworks, RAID processes, OKR reporting, executive reporting and portfolio maturity across multiple transformation workstreams.

    Key Responsibilities

Establish portfolio governance, maintain reporting, manage RAID logs, support OKR tracking, influence stakeholders, improve portfolio visibility and embed portfolio management disciplines across transformation teams.

    What We Are Looking For

Strong portfolio management experience, governance expertise, portfolio reporting capability, stakeholder management, communication skills and experience introducing structure into ambiguous environments. JIRA, Confluence, Agile and Power BI experience are desirable.

    Stakeholder Landscape

Regular engagement with Ben Pride, PPM professionals, Senior Leadership Teams, Service Owners, Service Transformation teams, Digital Inclusion teams, Accessibility teams and other delivery stakeholders.

    Ideal Background

Digital Portfolio Manager, Senior Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Office Lead, Head of Portfolio Office, PMO Lead, Senior PMO Manager, Programme Manager or Transformation Portfolio Manager

    Summary

This is a portfolio governance and maturity role rather than a traditional PMO support position. The strongest candidates will have a track record of creating portfolio structures, implementing governance frameworks and influencing senior stakeholders across transformation environments
