How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role… 

    We are seeking an experienced EV & Civils Estimator to join our growing team within Parco part of the Ipsum Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, associated civil engineering works, electrical installations, and enabling works.

    You will work closely with clients, suppliers, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop commercially viable proposals while ensuring all estimates meet project specifications, programme requirements, and applicable industry standards.

    As an Estimator you will be…

    Review and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation.

    Prepare detailed cost estimates for EV charging infrastructure and associated civils works.

    Estimate excavation, trenching, ducting, cabling routes, foundations, reinstatement, drainage, kerbing, surfacing, and other civil works.

    Estimate electrical works associated with EV charging installations, including containment, cabling, distribution equipment, and connections.

    Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

    Produce accurate bills of quantities, take-offs, cost plans, and tender submissions.

    Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and potential commercial opportunities.

    Carry out site visits and assess existing site conditions where required.

    Liaise with clients and internal teams to clarify scope and technical requirements.

    Ensure estimates are completed within agreed deadlines.

    Maintain estimating databases, labour rates, material costs, and subcontractor pricing.

    Support value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.

    Assist with handover of successful tenders to the commercial and project delivery teams.

    Maintain accurate records of tender information and estimating decisions.

    About you… 

    Previous experience in estimating within EV charging, electrical, civils, construction, utilities, or infrastructure.

    Strong understanding of civil engineering and construction methodologies.

    Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction details.

    Experience carrying out detailed quantity take-offs and cost build-ups.

    Strong numerical and analytical skills with commercial awareness and understanding of project costs and margins.

    Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.

    Strong communication and negotiation skills.

    Competent with Microsoft Excel and estimating software

    Desirable

    Experience estimating EV charging projects, including AC and DC charging infrastructure.

    Knowledge of DNO/IDNO requirements and electrical infrastructure.

    Experience with highways, car parks, commercial sites, or public-sector EV installations.

    Knowledge of NRSWA, HSG47, CDM, and relevant UK construction standards.

    Experience with estimating or take-off software such as Causeway, Conquest, Bluebeam, CostX, or similar.

    Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
