This is initially an agency position, with the potential to move into a permanent role depending on your experience, suitability and how the initial temporary shifts go.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and professional support, following individual care plans and ensuring the person's comfort, dignity and wellbeing at all times.
Duties will include:
* Providing personal care
* Following individual care plans and support plans
* PEG feeding
* Supporting with medication administration
* Supporting an individual with epilepsy
* Providing close observation and appropriate support throughout the shift
* Promoting dignity, independence and choice
* Maintaining accurate care records
* Working as part of a professional care team
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have in-date training certificates for:
* PEG Feeding
* Epilepsy Awareness
* Medication Administration
You must also have previous experience working in a support work or care environment and be confident providing personal care.
Desirable Experience
It would be particularly advantageous if you have experience supporting individuals with:
* Rett syndrome
* Vegetative state
* Neurodevelopmental disorders
* Stupor states
* Complex or high-dependency care needs
* Non-verbal communication needs
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferred, although this is not essential.
