How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Construction Estimator
    We are delighted to be recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Estimator to join one of our clients on a full-time, permanent basis.
    Based in the East Midlands, this is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing construction business, with a salary of up to £75,000, dependent on experience.
    The Role
    As a Construction Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders, working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to support successful project delivery.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender pricing and bid submissions
    * Review and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
    * Obtain, assess and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
    * Carry out quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis
    * Identify and highlight commercial and project risks
    * Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
    * Support the handover of successful projects to the delivery team
    * Ensure estimates are accurate, commercially competitive and submitted within required deadlines
    About You
    To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
    * Previous experience working as an Estimator within the commercial or industrial construction sector
    * A strong understanding of construction methods, materials and processes
    * The ability to confidently interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation
    * Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
    * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating software
    * The ability to work effectively under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
