Senior Electrical Fitters & Senior Mechanical Fitters Wanted!
Are you an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Fitter looking for your next challenge in industrial automation and special purpose machinery?
We are recruiting for both Senior Electrical Fitters and Senior Mechanical Fitters to join an established engineering business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke automated machinery.
These are fantastic opportunities for skilled, hands-on Engineers who enjoy building complex machinery, solving technical problems and seeing projects progress from initial assembly through to commissioning and final customer installation.
Working alongside experienced engineering teams, you'll be involved in delivering cutting-edge automation solutions across industries including aerospace, automotive, medical technology and advanced manufacturing.
Senior Electrical Fitter – The Role
*
Build and wire electrical control panels to engineering drawings and specifications.
*
Install and integrate electrical equipment including motors, drives, PLCs, safety systems, relays and contactors.
*
Carry out machine wiring, electrical installation and integration of automated machinery.
*
Install and connect pneumatic systems in accordance with engineering drawings.
*
Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
*
Undertake electrical fault-finding, inspection, testing and commissioning.
*
Support machinery installation and commissioning at customer sites when required.
*
Mentor and supervise apprentices and junior team members.
Senior Mechanical Fitter – The Role
*
Assemble, build and install complex mechanical systems and bespoke automated machinery.
*
Interpret mechanical engineering drawings, assembly layouts and technical specifications.
*
Carry out precision fitting, alignment and mechanical adjustments.
*
Install mechanical assemblies, pneumatic equipment and associated automation components.
*
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during machinery build and commissioning.
*
Work closely with Electrical Engineers, Designers and Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery.
*
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), machinery installation and commissioning.
*
Lead mechanical assembly activities and mentor junior Fitters and apprentices.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from experienced, time-served Electrical and Mechanical Fitters who take pride in delivering high-quality engineering work.
*
Recognised engineering apprenticeship, relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
*
Previous experience within industrial automation, special purpose machinery, machine building or manufacturing equipment.
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
*
Strong practical engineering skills with excellent attention to detail.
*
Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
*
Experience supervising or mentoring other engineers would be advantageous.
*
Willingness to undertake occasional UK and overseas travel for machinery installation and commissioning.
