How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HR Business Partner

    Salary: £38,940 - £48,675
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week
    Location: Hartlepool, TS25 1NS

    As an HR Business Partner at FCC Environment, you will support the Head of HR Group, HR Director and the rest of the HR Team with the delivery of the Company’s strategic and operational HR objectives. You will provide an effective operational people service to the business while managing and supporting the day-to-day requirements of the HR function.

    This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

    What will you be doing?

    - Managing a varied range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, capability, grievance and absence cases
    - Supporting and advising managers with investigations, flexible working requests, mediation and complex employee relations matters
    - Ensuring the business remains compliant with employment legislation and supporting the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
    - Managing consultations, contractual changes, redundancy processes and settlement agreements
    - Supporting recruitment activity, including reviewing job descriptions, preparing job adverts, selecting candidates and attending interviews for more complex roles
    - Liaising with recruitment agencies, reviewing CVs and providing feedback
    - Issuing contracts for new starters and contractual documentation for existing employees
    - Supporting Right to Work checks and maintaining accurate electronic personnel records
    - Liaising with ACAS, solicitors and Trade Union representatives where required
    - Identifying training requirements in partnership with the Learning and Development team
    - Supporting HR projects such as Company surveys, Gender Pay Gap reporting and pay negotiations
    - Working closely with other HR Business Partners to ensure a consistent approach and share knowledge across the organisation

    What are we looking for?

    - At least five years’ HR experience managing a varied caseload
    - MCIPD qualification
    - Up-to-date knowledge of employment law
    - Experience supporting operational teams within unionised and non-unionised environments
    - Strong written and verbal communication skills
    - Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately
    - Experience of developing recruitment strategies, policies and working practices
    - Strong Microsoft Office skills, with previous experience of HR systems preferred
    - The ability to manage demanding workloads, reassess priorities and respond positively to change
    - Confidence in making decisions and providing credible advice, without routinely referring matters to a higher level
    - Strong coaching, mentoring, influencing and relationship-building skills
    - A collaborative approach, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels
    - Drive, resilience and a commitment to delivering a high-quality HR service
