How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner – Setter or Programmer Setter

    Location: Cirencester, Gloucestershire
    Salary: £18.00 – £20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
    Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm | Friday 7:30am–12:30pm

    The Opportunity

    WLD Recruitment is working with an established precision engineering company in Cirencester that is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner / Setter or Programmer Setter to join its manufacturing team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Turner to work with Mazak multi-axis CNC lathes and sliding-head machinery, within a business that is continuing to invest in developing its machining and programming capabilities.

    The company is moving towards SolidCAM programming for CNC turning, creating an exciting opportunity for somebody looking to broaden their technical knowledge and develop their CAD/CAM programming skills.

    Whether you're an experienced CNC Setter looking to progress into programming or an established Programmer Setter, we'd be keen to hear from you.

    The Role

    Working within a precision engineering environment, your responsibilities will include:

    *

    Setting and operating Mazak multi-axis CNC turning centres.

    *

    Manufacturing precision-engineered components to engineering drawings and specifications.

    *

    Carrying out tooling changes, offsets and machine adjustments.

    *

    Working with multi-axis turning and sliding-head machining technology.

    *

    Ensuring components meet required tolerances and quality standards.

    *

    Troubleshooting machining issues and maintaining production efficiency.

    *

    Supporting improvements to machining processes and manufacturing methods.

    *

    Opportunity to develop programming skills as the business introduces SolidCAM for CNC turning.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential:

    *

    Previous experience setting CNC lathes within a precision engineering environment.

    *

    Good understanding of CNC turning operations, cutting tools and machining processes.

    *

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

    *

    Experience manufacturing precision-engineered components.

    *

    Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    *

    A willingness to learn and develop additional programming skills.

    Desirable:

    *

    Experience with Mazak CNC turning centres.

    *

    Multi-axis CNC turning experience.

    *

    Sliding-head machining experience.

    *

    CNC programming experience.

    *

    Knowledge of SolidCAM or other CAD/CAM software.

    Working Hours

    *

    Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm

    *

    Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm

    *

    Early finish every Friday!
