How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    EC&I Engineer / Food, Bev & FMCG projects / Remote / £55k - £65k (DOE)

    We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering capital projects within a fast-paced project manufacturing environment.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the front end / concept design, implementation, commissioning and optimisation of electrical, control, automation and instrumentation systems. Working across multiple engineering disciplines, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant industry standards, client specifications and regulatory requirements.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, electrical engineering and process control to contribute to complex manufacturing projects from concept through to commissioning.

    To be successful, the ideal candidate will need experience with concept / basic design, creating URS’ and developing IFQ’s within a manufacturing or packaging environment, ideally food or distillery sectors.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential

    * Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Control & Instrumentation Engineering.

    * Minimum of five years' experience within industrial automation, manufacturing or process industries.

    * Experience designing electrical and control systems within an industrial environment.

    * Working knowledge of PLC-based control systems. (understanding – not coding or programming)

    * Ability to interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

    * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.

    * Experience producing engineering documentation and technical specifications.

    What we are looking for is someone who has experience in LV electrical design, including SLDs, load lists, MCCs, starters, drives and protection systems, alongside PLC/control system architecture, control panels, industrial networking and SCADA/HMI integration.

    Strong instrumentation experience covering loop drawings, datasheets, calibration, testing and commissioning. Experienced in RFQs, supplier evaluation, FATs, contractor supervision, commissioning and project handover, with strong engineering documentation skills.

    Ideally experienced within Food & Beverage, Brewing or FMCG environments, with knowledge of SCADA/HMI, industrial networks. An understanding of ATEX/Ex would be desirable but not essential.
