How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Civils Project Manager | Highlands

Highlands | Competitive Salary + Package | Accommodation & Allowances

As our Highland Division continues to grow, we’re delighted to be supporting the expansion of a major infrastructure business delivering some of the projects shaping the future of the Highlands.

We’re now looking for an experienced Civils Project Manager to join an exciting programme of major infrastructure works within the energy sector.

This is a hands-on civils role for someone who understands construction from the ground up and is comfortable leading projects, teams and subcontractors on site.

    The Role

As Civils Project Manager, you’ll take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of your projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, to budget and to the required quality standards.

    You’ll be responsible for:

Leading the delivery of major civils projects from start to finish

Managing Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Section Managers

Overseeing programmes, resources, materials and subcontractors

Managing commercial performance, cost control and project margins

Working closely with clients and key stakeholders

    Identifying and resolving operational issues

Ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual requirements

Setting the standards for safety, quality and performance across the project

    What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with a strong civil engineering/construction background who genuinely understands project delivery on site.

    You could come from:

    Specialist civil engineering

    Infrastructure

    Energy

    Water

    Highways

    Rail/transport

    Renewables

Energy experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

What's important is that you have solid experience delivering major civils projects, with particular exposure to areas such as concrete, drainage and general civil engineering works.

    You’ll ideally have:

Previous experience working as a Project Manager

    Experience delivering complex civils/infrastructure projects

Strong commercial and programme management experience

Experience managing site teams and subcontractors

HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5 or a relevant degree

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who knows construction, understands what happens on site and isn't afraid to get their boots dirty.

    What's on offer?

Alongside a competitive salary and benefits package, the role offers:

27 days holiday + bank holidays

Excellent list of lucrative benefits – more info on this can be provided

    Annual bonus

    Accommodation available on many projects

    Overnight allowance

10 days on / 4 days off, with flexibility around shift patterns

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a significant pipeline of infrastructure work and play a key role in delivering projects that will have a real impact on the future of the Highlands and Scotland's energy infrastructure.
